B1654 is born of the combined efforts of Dorham Pfieffer and his father, the late Kevin Pfieffer. Kevin was a pioneer of non-alcoholic wines. He was passionate and innovative and generous, sharing

his knowledge of creating non-alcoholic wines with the larger winemaking industry. His skill was recognised widely, receiving an Order of Australia Medal for services to the industry and community.

The B1654 range is a tribute to Kevin and shows that non alcoholic wines can still have the characters and complexities of a traditional wine.

To get the best representation of wine in a non-alcoholic package, it begins with creating a wine traditionally then meticulously stripping all the great characters of the wine taste, texture and aroma, to add back in once it has been de-alkalised.  Through using gentle core spinning cone technology we are able to strip back the alcohol.  Then add back in the taste, texture and aroma.   Rebuilding the wine without the alcohol, a slow and tedious process, but worthwhile as you can see in our products.
